The ZP high school in Duggirala was started in the year 1912 on the special occasion of King George V ascendancy to the crown and hence known as King George V coronation hall and Board school from 14.12.1912.
The school was set up in a sprawling campus of 10 acres with financial assistance of Shri Bodepudi Kantaiah s/o Subbaiah garu and under the able stewardship of then Peda munsubu Mr.Jampala Subbaraidu garu.
It was the only second school in Tenali revenue division,besides the high school at Turimella,where students from 20 villages used to study.It was the only school for the students of Chintalapudi,Morampudi,Penumuli and Manchiklapudi.
Among the distinguished personalities who served the school as headmasters were C.Bhanumurthy,T.Rajagopalayyangar,Prasadarao,K.Rajabapaiah(Presidential award),Ghanta Narayanarao etc . Kattika Venkateswararao who served this school as teacher won president award for best teacher.
The past students who brought laurels to school, noted cine actors like Kongara Jaggaiah, Venigalla Pitchaiah chowdary Income tax tribunal member,Venigalla Hanumantharao IAS officer Madras state,Venigalla Satyanarayana ex-MP,Jampala Parthasaradhi,Ex-chairman APSEB, Mikkilineni Vinayak IAS.Principal secretary Nimmagada Ramesh kumar IAS is also from this village and played stellar role in successfully organizing centenary celebrations.
